This Jersey City street scene shows few cars and fewer pedestrians out on the 4th of July. No wonder, when the whole town converged on Roosevelt Field to watch the annual battle between the Jersey City Giants and the Newark Bears of the Triple-A International League. 2668 practically owns the street!

The war is over and 2668 rusts away as the scrapping date approaches. Greenville yard, 1946.

Visitors are few, field mice and pigeons the only witnesses to the sad decline of 2668 and sisters during the last days of life.
